We processed 248 kicks out of thin air in our Thump Kicks Vol1 using some synthesis and a lot of carefully applied distortion. We tried to get that lush ‘soft’ attack we love within the urban genres with gritty textures and a blazing tumb to precede and accompagne a 808 type bass.
What we focussed on is having a thick and rich sound with dynamics not being over compressed and foremost a nice stereo signal that is mono compatible! It is something we usually miss in our source material and something we catch ourselves always having to fix or generate: Phase issues and lack of good stereo!
Attention to detail is something most people do value, but rarely receive! In this pack every kicks has some variations, some are attack variations, some are ‘grit’, you get a handful for most designs.
The root key is also something we tried to keep similar across the board so when you swap you don’t get thrown around all over the place.
We hope this will help you in your mix process as well and become your go to kick library for your urban projects!
